A couple of weeks after part 1 of the series, the timing and weather were just right to embark on the Chondro Series part 2 shoot. For this shoot we focused on just the recently hatched – so all of the individuals were around 5-6 weeks old and approximately 4 inches in length.
Chondro Series Part 2 – Baby Red Chondro
Whilst the set-up was the same (outdoor shoot on a blazing hot afternoon), this time we employed some props – in the form of three flowering Orchid house plants. On the first Chondro Series shoot, in order to get the larger individuals in shot I used my ‘go to’ lens – which is an ultra wide angle that allowed me to get very close and still get all the detail. This time I changed my lens to a telephoto as I didn’t need as much width, and it would allow for even more close-up detail – despite me being positioned a little further away.
